This is just a reminder of what you are required to agree to upon entering The Old Mutual joBerg2c:

  1. The Old Mutual joBerg2c is a gruelling but uplifting mountain bike stage ride over 900km’s and requires mountain biking skill and proper fitness to enjoy the experience
  2. It is not a tour. You will be fit enough and skilled enough to complete the journey
  3. You understand that the nature of this event requires an element of character which means you may have to carry my own bag to your tent where help is not provided
  4. You will carry your own lube and own basic spares, be reasonably proficient mechanically to change tyres, plug tubeless holes, fix broken chains, and unpack and pack your bike out of the box
  5. You will run tubeless tyres and slime for your own enjoyment
  6. If you breakdown or quit between Water Points you will not expect a lift. You will make your way to the next Water Point where you will wait for a lift. You will make a donation to the farmer who lifts you to finish
  7. You will not bring any private masseurs or mechanics to the event – even to ‘drive’ my camper van. These should be booked with the official massage team and official mechanics
  8. If you are planning on bringing a camper van then you have to buy a Camper Van package prior to the event. Camper van will be allocated a designated parking areas at the overnight stops, they have to be totally self sufficient as no electricity will be provided
  9. The event has a fully equipped emergency medical support team, however you will need bring my own basic medicines. joBerg2c is not a pharmacy. Please bring the basic tummy tablets, headache tablets or any other legal tablets you may find necessary
  10. You must have suitable medical insurance to cover all emergencies for the duration of the event
  11. You will carry your credit card and travel insurance / medical aid documents with you at all times for emergency hospital procedures
  12. You understand that farmers are opening their lands to us and that they are doing this as a privilege not a right
  13. You understand that if you insult any farmer, crew, marshal or any other rider you will be asked to leave the event immediately
  14. You understand that if you drop a gel packet or any other litter you will face immediate disqualification from the event
  15. You agree to the reasonable daily cut-off times and should you not make the very reasonable cut-offs more than twice you will agree to withdraw from the event and return at another time when you are fitter
  16. You understand that The Old Mutual joBerg2c is a GPS event, which means you will need a GPS device capable of tracking routes, and that there will be no traditional marking. Click here for more information
